Wiring GT 380K ignition switch

Post by drfeelgood »

Good morning ladies, gentlemen and you others. Please share your wisdom. I'm wiring up my 1973 380. Please tell me which connection goes where on the ignition switch fitted to my bike. From underneath, there is a single terminal at 12 o'clock, and two separate pairs of terminals at 20 to and 20 past. Tara lot. Tarara bit.

I think that may be your voltage regulator ? The ignition switch I believe is a four wire set up that connects inside the headlamp shell

Here is a wiring diagram that shows the ignition switch and the VR as well as everything else

Buddy. With a photo you can't see that's the underside of the ignition switch! Got plenty of wiring diagrams mate, just needed advice from someone who knew what an ignition switch looked like and could advise on connections!

So, having been told off I thought I'd try harder ;)

This is what your ignition switch should look like

This is what the switch looks like with the boot removed (This is the 4 wire version but the connection plate looks the same)
