Ah, that answers my question on your other fred. Late iron bores. What size? Are they standard or rebored and where are you based?
Cheers.

Alan

Sorry, not my most successful posts ever.

Hopefully the link above gives most of the details.

I am between Salisbury and Blandford.

My Vernier gauges ain't the best and I'm no precision engineer, but I measured all 3 at a smidge under 61mm - is that too vague?

Standard bore is 61mm. You can measure front to back, then side to side to check for ovalityWear is usually front to back) and if there's a 'lip' near the top of the bores, it would show wear. You need to measure about a good half inch (12mm) down the bore where the piston rings 'run'.

Thanks.

No readings over 61mm so on standard bores then.

I couldn't find any lip on any of them, even the 'rusty' one that looks to me like the middle one.

Maybe a tiny bit of ovality, but to be honest it could be my cack-handedness with the gauge.

I measured as far down the bore as I could with the gauge and this is about half an inch.
