Suzuki GT(?) forks id help needed please

Sorry to trouble you folks again, but I'm not quite sure what the forks that came to me as part of an abandoned GT550 project are actually off.

The fork springs and the rest of the innards are held in place with a circlip in the top of the forks, as opposed to a threaded cap. This makes them slightly later variants? Also, only one of the legs appears to carry the mount for the brake caliper.

The leg with the caliper mount is stamped HF-2 and the other one HF-3.

I've had a look at the Partzilla parts lists and, from what I could see, where the forks had the circlips, both legs had the caliper mounts.

A photo is attached.

Thanks as always.

Thanks Barney.

From the parts manuals and photos on the internet that I've seen, the left fork leg had the mounts for the caliper, even if the second disc wasn't fitted. Am I being daft?!

Hi Alan. Unless it is a trick of the photo angle, the fork bottom without the caliper mount looks shorter than the other. If it is it could be off a 250 or 380 or maybe a 500? Kev

Thanks Kev, but it's just my crap photography!

Fork legs are the same length, with mudguard bolt holes level with each other.

Hmm. Definitely a later model, perhaps A or B. Still thinking of a GT500. I'm sure the 550 had the left leg with the unused caliper mount. Mine did before I converted it.

Thanks folks.

I'll check out the parts lists for the 380 and 500.

Thanks Kev.

I held them against my GT550J and they appear to be the same length.

I will, of course, post again if I suss out what they are.
