T500 (& others) chain adjuster lengths

Post by Gr8uncleal »

Morning forum and a belated Happy New Year to you all.

In amongst a small box of nos Suzuki parts, mostly without part numbers, that came my way was what I thought was a pair of chain adjusters.

The left hand one looked like it might be for a T500. However, when put side by side they are different lengths. The obvious assumption is that I have a couple of adjusters for different bikes - have I, or would a bike have had different length adjusters? One photo is attached.

This might not be the last of my queries!

Many thanks.

Alan

Look here - https://alpha-sports.com/suzuki_parts.htm - Titan rear wheel.
You just have the ones in the pic arsyabout (left/right should be right/left if you get what I mean.)
Items 40 and 41 in the parts list. Click on the exploded diagrams to zoom in etc.
And click on the area you need to zoom in on for more details.

Thanks Alan H.

Yes, I took the photo with the alignment marks, er, aligned with and next to each other, so they are arsyabout as you said!

There is a difference in length of about 4mm on the outer sides and about 8mm on the inners. Where I've seen pairs for sale on fleabay, they appear to be the same length as each other.

The ones on most bikes are equal lengths, not, it appears, on the 500!
