TMax,

That looks superbly original and perhaps well-stored by the look of the headlamp chrome?

Lots of original stickers too - you will have fun with that beasty - fast bike in its day.

Cheers,
Mike

Thundermax, Nice find, I would clean it up, and get it going, and leave it un restroed, and just us it!! as it will be worth more unrestored, as it is, what it is....

Calm down KB. i think you need the application of Ta TA TAAAAAAAA Mr. C's Liniment.

That should sort your sort of excitement out.

Try some on your keyboard too, I think that gets excited when it gets excited, if you know what I mean. (wink smiley)

wHAT A GREAT FIND!
just proves my theory that there must be loads of bikes in sheds around the country in a similar state, forgotten by the owners just waiting to be found.
The gt250 is a good machine; I had an A model brand new in 1976 ( silver ) and sold it when I passed my test for a gt380j from Cusworths of Doncaster.
(VDT891M where are you now?). I agree that if it was me, I would not do a full rebuild on this as it seems to have a "period patina " to it as it is.
i'd enjoy it just as it is, replacing the tyres etc as needed after so long a lay off.
Good luck with it!

"look;it's my bike; when you own it ,you can paint it any colour you like!"
(I once painted my Z650 PINK and had the pink panther logo on the tailpiece)

I have to agree, clean it up, cheaper and more rewarding I would think.

You can restore something a thousand times, but it'll only be original once.
