Mike-success with the kettle method! Rob.yeadon_m wrote:Rob,
Easy way which works to get 'em off or on is: boil a kettle (the tea making kind!) and pour boiling watter on the peg / rubber in a large enough glass jug to submerge the whole rubber. Leave 1 minute precisely (I know, this isn't GBBO). With rubber gloves on, or using your best T towel, yank out, pull on rubber while having bar clamped in workmate or similar. Might take two cycles to get it off, but one to gerrit on. A lick of washing up liquid on the bar end will help with refitting. Simples.

Re: The Yeti
Well, got all the paintwork from Kev yesterday and it's absolutely gorgeous.
Candy Gold with some extra bling in the form of metalflake in it too. - just to keep the rivet counters a bit apoplectic!
I didn't want to unwrap it all today, as I've been fettling the bottom yoke and sorting carbs out today so I'll have to get all the bits on the table tomorrow for a photoshoot.
I did have a look at the tank though - superb job.
Wish I'd dropped the badges off for Kev to do now after seeing his 'Badgy' thread...........

Re: The Yeti
The boy done good! Here's the pics of Candy Apple Metallic GT550 Yeti parts.
Should be different enough to upset the purists and nice enough to be more than acceptable to people who ride the bikes.
Now where are the side panel decals I had made?
