It was a great trip, I covered a bit over 4000 miles all in from some rough calculations. We got baked in the sun, had rainstorms to ride into etc and saw a lot of the country. I plan to explore more of the USA again.
The part of the trip I hated the most was from Panama City Florida to Miami Florida. Almost 600 miles of flat terrain in dead straight lines. I started out in the morning around 9.00AM and did not reach Miami until 11.30PM, its enough to make a person fall asleep. I did encounter two delays that made me loose around two and a half hours, but thats all in it.
Two strokes, its just that simple.
