Hi to all....
Just bought myself a GT750 (J) ... I think it's a J anyway... drum brake??
Anyway, been looking for a Kettle for years & this particular one belonged to a customer who's had it since 1982, has won lots of awards at shows in the past but, unfortunately it's been stood in an old fairly damp garage for something like 15 or more years so it's now looking a bit sorry for itself, also the engine is locked up solid...
I've been trying to persuade him to part with it for years & he's finally succumbed... so be prepared for lots of daft questions/advice while I prepare to tear it apart.
Any advice before I start??
Newbie

Yes welcome to the forum, lots of knowledgable people on here. The best advice I can give is take as many photos as you can before you start taking things to pieces. I've also got a 750J which in my opinion is the best model kettle of all although I might just be in the minority
They're rubbish them Jap bikes lad they won't last five minutes! you want to get yourself a nice Royal Enfield!

Hi Geoff. Welcome to the asylum. What neck of the woods are you in? Lots of folks all around the country (and overseas.)

Because of the time difference in where he is, and where I am, I actually answered his question before he asked it.
So there.
That's my reasoning and I'm sticking to it.

Thanks for the welcomes guys... I'll post lots of pics once I've picked the bike up and it's in my garage... I'm looking forward to getting started.
I've restored several Yamaha XT600 Tenere's over the last few years... (and still have them all ) much to the better half's disgust... so I'm used to fixing stuff
but not on this scale, this a much more involved & complicated task I think....
couple of my Tenere's
