Don't judge others by your failures.
You don't know what I get up to (hopefully!)
Anyway, I didn't say they paid me did I?
Although my past form would negate t'other way of financial transfer I suppose.

Re: 1967 T200 Invader
Had another attempt at the wiring yesterday - all bikes out and under the awning on the front of the house 'in case it rained'.
Started again sorting the wiring and found that a couple of the wires on the new harness had male/female connectors swapped so they wouldn't go where they should. Nuthin' straightforward is there?
Anyway while crimping/soldering it started to rain, then heavier and finally pee'd down so the Hippo and Bronto ended up getting splashed and then I noticed what looked like the tide coming in and water starting to get in the garage. The drain had got blocked with small pebbles from the neighbour's 'garden', so I got out what I could, cleaned the crap out of the normally covered trough in front of the door and blew/flushed the rest down the drain and Yorkshire Watter can sort it out now.
It was bl00dy cold by then so dried the bikes off as the rain had stopped and put them all to bed. I was going to finish off today, but at -3 degrees this morning, I though sod it.
Maybe another day.
The saga continues.

Serpently. 10 grand and a set of hubcaps for a 1973 Escort.
Coming from Scouseshire, you'll have several sets I'd think. Or do you only have the heavyweight variety?
Local pikeys gypos ethnic scrapmen call here to pick stuff up, at a price - my way of course.

Well done Alan - I'm sure you will sort the wiring out easily. The bike looks fantastic - your right its only original once - its so tricky not to over restore. Best of luck with it - weather will improve soon ! Eamonn

Re: 1967 T200 Invader
Well, after lots of head scratching, changing the wiring harness due to so many poor wires and connections, replacing the rectifier - it charges and everything works. Woo and a bit of hoo as well.
I've changed the clutch and front brake perches (while keeping the original levers) so that I can fit 'proper' mirrors (without the Suzuki 'S' of course as they're too bl00dy dear.)
When I find a T20/T200/similar left hand handlebar switch, I'll fit some indicators too. They were fitted on some UK models (this one is a US import) as I understand, and if mirrors and indicators offend the purists, so be it.
There are other new things too - tyres, chain, petrol, oil and air in the tyres, none of which were on the bike in 1967. My safety comes before originality, I'm afraid.
Insured today on the frame number, the registration letter to DVLA goes in the post tomorrow. Let's see if it goes through first time.
The TC200 is also insured - cost for both for the 3 months remaining of my current Peter James multi bike policy is a massive £9.62. I think I'll splash out on 12 months road tax tomorrow as it's such a good deal - 12 months for the price of......no months!!
So on Friday I can go out on the TC and if I wish to be bloody minded (who me?) I could have a ride to the MOT garage and pretend to get it tested as well, without a number plate. Hmmmmm.
