Hi all , just to bring you up to date :

As you know I recently bought my first Kettle, so bought one with a rebuilt motor or not as the case may be !

The more we’ve got into it the less it looks like it’s ever been apart !

Situation as of today :

Crank away for rebuild
New pistons ready
Barrels re-bored
Crank cases striped and repainted
New water pump ready
New electronic ignition ready
New stainless head bolts ready
All other bolts striped and re-chromed
All casings away at the polishers

Loads of other stuff but those are the big ones, a lot of work for an engine that’s just been rebuilt !

I’ll keep you posted !

Kurgan

Let this be a lesson to anyone reading this,
If your buying a bike that supposedly had an engine rebuild.
ASK FOR THE BILLS TO PROVE IT.

Even that doesn’t prove much?
I’ve just bought a 1100 Katana with a stack of bills to prove the top end of the motor has been rebuilt BUT the worrying thing is whoever built it doesn’t know how to set the cam chain adjuster up or even how to set the carbs properly :(
