Hi again all. I'll be shopping for tyres for my bike soon. What type and modern sizes do you guys use or recommend. Obviously the tube situation limits my options and thought you fellas would be a goldmine of experience and could point me in in the right direction or steer me clear. Apologies if this has been discussed a million times and I've been too lazy to search.

Hi Jacob, you're right it has been discussed many times, but most kettle riders, myself included prefer Bridgestone Battlax BT45's. I pay around £68 for the front 3.25x19 and £85 for the rear 4.00x18 from my local Suzuki dealer with free fitting. They have excellent grip giving plenty confidence. Well worth the money.

Are they tube fit tyres you use or do you put tubes in a tubeless tyre?

Is running tubeless tyres with tubes a common occurrence with people on here. I always thought the profile was different between tubed and tubeless. Apologies for persisting but it's all new to me is this malarkey.

I’ve gone with Avon roadriders as have a few other members. They have a harder compound in the centre of the tyre compared to the outside. Think the BT45’s have a similar type of compound but it all comes down to preference.

No matter what tyre you go for you'll have to have a tube in spoked wheels.

Of course but I believe tubed tyre profiles have slightly deeper sidewalls than tubeless ones. I read that only certain spoked rims and certain types of tubeless tyres can be mixed
