Instant gasket for engine casings

Post by Stevengt750 »

Hi , Does anyone out there know the correct Instant gasket to use when you put the two engine casings together on a Gt550 J as there is no paper gasket so it must just rely on the instant gasket material . I can only presume it must be quite critical which one to use because of the tolerances clamping the bearings etc any help would be very much appreciated thanks again Steve

Most of us use Three Bond in one of its various forms or brand names. It's gray and non hardening same as Suzuki used back in the day.

An alternative would be almost any Hylomar product but they are typically blue - Suzuki blue perhaps ;)

I've got some 45(ish) year old Hermetite red in the garage, I'm sure that'd do.
It cured the gear indicator oil leak on the Hippo last week. :|
