Crank seal gt550 fitting

Post by Stevengt750 »

Hi again
I'm in the process of rebuilding the engine on my GT 550 and i'm about to put the crankshaft in but before I do I need to press the bearing onto the end of crank ( The one that runs in the gearbox oil ) The question I have is. The seal that runs between that bearing and the crack which way round should it go . Do I have the spring side of the seal towards the crank or towards the gearbox oil side any help would be appreciated cheers steve

Pressure comes from the cylinder side, so spring to pressure otherwise it'll just blow out and foam the clutch oil.
Proof that four strokes are over complicated
