Hello Everyone

Pardon me for not introducing myself earlier. I am in Ontario Canada and have been riding and wrenching for 52 years now. Gee, that sounds terrible. Where have the years gone?
This is my 3rd Water Buffalo , a 76. Honestly, I have been concentrating mainly on Kawasaki Triples and have done about 8 of them if my counting is accurate.
At present , I have a 2016 Triumph Thruxton 900 as my daily rider, a GS1100 as my touring bike, The GT, a Honda Super Hawk and a Laverda 750. I am retired and working part time as of Jan. 1 2020 so the Gt is my winter , keep busy, project.
I am a longtime member of Kawasaki Triples Canada too.
This GT looks great, has original paint and has been sitting for years. I put a battery in it and all lights and horn work. Not so much with the engine as you may have guessed from my questions. Every screw and bolt were seized tight and it was a very vocal strip down . I have the crank out now for rebuilding and will start on the clean up and touch up as well as lots of polishing and scrubbing.
Oh yes, my shop is a mess but I know where every last thing is which bugs my wife even more than the disarray.

Welcome Dave. Another Kaw Triples enthusiast here too although I’ve owned 4 Suzuki’s including a 72 GT380, 76 RE5, 82 GS1100E, and 76 GT750A. The GT750A is the only Suzuki I have now and wished I still had the 76 RE5. 72 H2 750 Mach IV Triple will always be my first love.

Hi Dave, welcome to the gang of aging (well) loonies.
As said before you'll get all the help you need with your kettle rebuild on here, just keep asking, although I don't know what the situation is like over there, compared with the UK, for specialist services/parts, for classic bikes like the GT750.
The reason I think that is, I've been to Canada many times, mostly to visit relatives in Toronto and Vancouver, but also on holiday and I've never seen a GT750, or any of the GT/T range of bikes on the road, in fact the only classics I did see were Harleys and of course, lots of modern British and Jap bikes.
What are your thoughts?

As in most countries, there are few vintage bikes rolling around. There is a local CVMG club who hold a show every spring so I do see a number of various classics. The Kaw Triples club used to have an annual rally ain the same town as a large Show and Shine event in Paris Ontario but the host finally stopped it. We have a couple small get togethers each year. The sound of 10 or 20 Kaw triples going through a small town is a thing of beauty. In selling some of my projects in order to finance new ones, I have come across some great enthusiasts and then also a great number of guys who have a large chequebook and want the fame without actually doing anything to bring back a classic. I guess it takes all kinds.
