Go onto dvla , upload the relevant form , think its 888 ?? pay your £5 and put a good reason for asking on the form , and that should sort you out .

Snowy is spot on Paul - worth the fiver and the few weeks wait - you get back a sheaf of info right back to name of importer and dealer that sold it to first owner. Great fun for those with an interest in history. Also confirms the bike frane/engine remain together and what its original colour was, together with every owner right up to you.
You don't need much of a reason for them to let you have this info - just tell them you're a keen vintage bike collector and that you've restored this one - the history being the last piece of the puzzle!
Cheers,
Mike

Hi Paul, when you get the response back from the DVLA take a close look at the first owner if the history goes back that far, reason being PGN 20P was a Suzuki RE5A (the only one ever imported into the UK by Heron Suzuki) and it was Suzuki's press test bike, it featured in several magazines.

Given the closeness of the numbers it's just possible yours could have been a Suzuki fleet bike too.

Just seen a clip on one of the Isle of Man programs and it showed a clip of Barry Sheen riding PGN 17P - a Maui Blue A model - if that's the bike you have got I think I'd hang on to it :D
