starter clutch

i have taken the locknut of of the starter clutch, is it possible to remove in one assembly, or do you have to dismantle it.
is it on a taper as i cant see how it comes off.

hi there pal it is on with a keyway on a taper use a puller to put some tension on it, then gentle tap the rim, tighten up puller bit by bit BUT BE WARNED!!! these fly off dont have anything near you don't want dented!!! and you can loose the internal rollars when they come off. cheers Phil

thanks i got a steering wheel puller from sears that worked like a charm
