Getting the seals out can be a swine. Some do it artfully with sharp screwdrivers as levers. I went the self tapping screw route. Drill pilots and pop 2-3 in. Grab with mole wrench each in turn and whump the wrench upwards wi' a hammer. It'll soon be persuaded to lift!

Blow lamp to warm them worked really well for me, they popped out very easily once softened a little :o

Well, finally got around to getting these sorted. Used the O Rings as a base for the seals. Work just fine. It is possible to overcompress them a bit so a little care in driving the seal down until it is just below the lip for the spring clip.

As I said before, a bead of silicon sealant around the outside of the seal sorts out any possible leak from seat damage.

Thanks Kev, I have ordered the same o rings as you so hopefully they will work for me too.
Do you apply a smear of silicon sealant after you have driven the seals in or do you put it on the fork leg and then drive them in?

Hi Simon

After mate. Just like sealing round the kitchen sink :) Just run a wet finger (Steady you lot!) around the bead to work it into the gap
