the 2T oil tank, all neatly mounted under the seat..........
where the filler cap is totally inaccessible..........bugger..........
so - I modified the filler cap to accept some tubing..........
found this Bimota Tesi 1D fuel tank outlet in my spares cache and turned the swaged end off the lower leg to accept the smaller diameter pipe from the filler cap..........
drilled a hole in the VJ23 seat unit and mounted it, securing it with the 20mm nut from the previous picture.........
connect pipe from tank filler cap and it's good to go - acts as a vent for the tank and allows the tank to be filled from the outside, without disturbing the seat unit, using a large syringe and a length of tube.
I feel another headache coming on................ ;-|

Re: XR11/73
having stocked up on hose clamps, it's time to tackle the return pipe..............
from the outlet of the radiator to the pump.............
electric water pump mounted outboard of the front sprocket.......
from the pump outlet, up and over the cylinder head........
then out the front and down in between #1 & 2 cylinders header pipes........
and it all fits, even with the carbs fitted...........
phew...........

at last - the dry clutch drive hub is finished. Shown here it's component parts with seals and thrust washers and the modified GT750 primary gear.

Re: XR11/73
Just a thought regards the oil tank filling.
If the pipe has a dip in it, the air won't be able to get out when you're trying to fill the tank unless the syringe pipe goes all the way into the tank - then when you try to fill it, any oil in the rubber pipe might come out of the top.
If the black rubber pipe has a steady rise from main tank to filler and the syringe pipe goes all the way into the main tank it should be ok though.
Just trying to stop a mess mate, via another pair of eyes!

Good spot Al !
The filler pipe doesn't go all the way into the tank but the tank vents via a hole drilled in the rubber cap.

Proper progress buddy!
I still can't work out how you are keeping the 'dry' bit of the clutch dry and the 'wet' bits (primaries) wet though? What am I missing? Or are you allowing the crank primary to run dry as well?
Like the water pump!! Needs a few more pipes to make it look a bit more tekkie though!!

Love the water pump and electronic controller. Long pipes remind me of a snowmobile. They don't have a radiator, just a long alloy "pipe" that snow gets thrown up on to keep it cool.
