Hello,
New member, noted this old post.
Back in 1979 I owned a ported, modified Suzuki GT750.
It ran very well, to well in the city.
After a 92mph stop in the 30 mph zone. And eight tickets.. the bike was sold for legal fees.
The new owner who was a expert motocross mechanic, reworked the stock carbs.
The last time I rode the bike, (1980) it wound up / revved like a motocross engine.
So with enough time and loads of work. You would be surprised.
Before that I had use of a friend's machine shop. With the help of a large magnifing machine. So you could see the jets taper and hole size.
With lots of spare time and a lot of jets. I drilled sets of custom oversized jets.
I don't remember what else was done to the bike as my friend and the GT was blasted from behind by a drunk driver.
Cheers, Earl
