The restoration of LEL **P begins

Post by JOHNJENKS66 »

Here we go again, about to put an A model back together, after an engine re-build,and frame up restoration. The bike was first registered in the UK on the 14th of August 1975,making it a very early A model.according to the frame no.Frame has been blasted, and painted in 2 pac gloss black.New wiring, new wheels, new paint work in Candy Gold.Clocks have been re-furbished,forks re-chromed and polished. All rubber parts re-newed,all bolts re-zinced,re-chromed,or replaced with stainless.Full engine re-build,crank by Applebee, new seals, etc.anyway you get the picture. Now to begin putting it all back together

Will keep updating as I progress.

Cheers,John.

Looks delicious stuff. Enjoy the build and here's hoping for an uneventful start-up report!

Just a small bit more done so far this week,I know that the clocks are not standard, but I personally think that Suzuki should have done them like this. :D
Anyway, clocks done by Gary Mellors (The Clockdoc) and switches by Kettle Boy,both providing an excellent service.

Looking good, love the clocks, you're right that should have been the stock look. I'd thought about doing something similar to my manky ones and that's convinced me it's the right way to go. Another thing to add to the winter shed hibernation jobs list
