Lots of peeps have had no problems vapour blasting carbs but I’ve always soda blasted mine, the theory being that the soda will dissolve when the carbs are put in the ultrasonic bath where as the glass beads used in vapour blasting won’t. It’s very hard to get every orifice clean in a set of carbs. Baz uses a tumble method which looks stunning. Each to their own as they say, here’s some before and after (after & before  ) pics of my carbs.

Thanks for the pics :)

I believe some folk vapor blast using soda, I haven't spoken to my guy about it so I'm not sure what he uses.

+ 1 on Baz's method. He's done 4 sets for me.

Access to Baz is in the "too hard" basket for me Alan due to distance/cost constraints :(

PS: The guy I use uses powdered glass in his hydro blast.

As I like to impress on people - it's only money.
It was invented to make people happy. It certainly makes me happy! ....

^^^^That's fine when you're spending someone else's coin Alan, but I'm spending mine :(

I'm not tight, but I'm a frugal sonofabitch and expect some value for my outlay, paying hundreds in postage doesn't float my boat :(

I've heard it all now.

Sorry I thought Alan H said that and nearly choked. :o
Especially when he said "it's only money" Yeh right!!!
Look, my paintwork hasn't got "Fish scales" :x they're "Dragon scales" right!!! However, after some thought, I will accept "Black Marlin" or "Swordfish", but definitely not "Haddock" or "Cod".

Sending the frame and other gear in for powder coating at the end of the month, is there anything I should do to the frame or swing arm before coating it?

Not looking to do modifications, more so fixing any inherent faults.

Looking to order some slugs and crank rebuild stuff. I was looking to get a crank from Chris Appleby but in the current climate it may well be too much of a pain in the ar*e:( So that might be happening locally.

Also, If you see this message Baz, any love with oil lines?

Gonna attack these 2 turds tomorrow, looking to get sh*t cleaned up before it goes into the blasters.
