If you do a bit of an intro - where you are based etc., there may be someone near that can help. We don't even know what country you're in.

I’m in the UK just outside Portsmouth on 5he south coast...

Bought a GT380 having had a n7mber of two strokes in my youth many years ago now. It’s had work done previously probably 20 years ago...

If you decide not to coat the tank I suggest to protect your engine and carbs fit an in-line filter. This will prevent crap blocking the jets and save you having to strip them so much. I tried cheap ones without success but on recommendation bought Suzuki Bandit ones from Robinsons Foundry and they were 100% effective.
