gt500 finished
finally finished this gt500 , been a bit of a long hard slog to be honest , difficult to source certain parts and put right previous owners bodges ! Certainly wasn t the bargain i d thought it was , it had been resprayed in the correct colours ( the paint started bubbling 5 weeks after i aquired it !) i got it running then crank seals blew , anyway here we go --- full respray ,proper front guard aquired repaired and re chromed ,chain guard and exhausts repaired and chromed ,crank overhauled , new pistons ,rings ,cylinders vapour blasted and rethreaded to take the original head bolts , carbs vapour blasted ,new air box elements ,coils, electronic ignition, rear brake pedal ,headlamp ,fork shrouds , battery , full clutch ,tank badges ,fork rubber covers, footrest grips God i coul go on and on ! ( probably have done lol) Anyway good news some parts were already new when i got it ,seat , shockys ,powder coated frame ,rear mudguard chain etc so now here she is the first 2 letters of the reg no are GT (i think its a london area ?) I do have a connection with gt500 s - l lost my right leg whilst crashing one into a ford grenada in 1995 , Thanks for reading this and a spe ial thanks to the guys who helped me on here with advice and sorting parts ! cheers Terry

What a terrific job you have done! A really beautiful bike now that has been sorted properly. A real credit to you. You must know it was worth the slog. Gorgeous colour BTW

Lovely job and a heartfelt write-up Terry. Well done it looks really nice. You did well finding a fender good enough to repair.

Looks a cracking job done there, well done!
Are the front mudguards the same as the GT550? If so, I can sympathise as usable one's are getting really rare these days.
