Luggage rack mounting

Post by silentjewel »

When fitting a luggage rack how is it fitted to the upper shock mount?
Is it a washer to the frame then the rack and another washer before refitting the shock?

I've fitted my Grab Rail to the outside of the shock absorber, just makes sense to me :)
 otherwise the shock won't be fully home on its mount !, misaligned ;)
WARNING do not take off the shock absorbers :?:
Swing arm & wheel will fall to the floor if bike is on the centre stand...traping rear tyre under mudgard :twisted:Please read amended post

The luggage rack tang is just another form of washer really which is why you see variable numbers of washers listed. If you fit a grab rail or luggage rack you subtract an original fit washer to compensate for the increase in thickness, They "should" all fit behind the shock mount I believe. Kev
