Re: GT380M Restoration
Small update! Hagon were very helpful and sent out the thicker retainers to move the shroud further down the shock and give me the clearance I required.

Re: GT380M Restoration
Next up was to get the rear lamp holder and lamp fitted. Not much to say about that, no real dramas! The small washers in the pictures have since been replaced with penny washers.

I then got my wheels back from being rebuilt. The original rims were chrome plated, hubs vapour blasted and polished and then laced with stainless steel spokes and new bearings/seals fitted. Then I fitted some Avon am26 tyres.

Re: GT380M Restoration
Thanks everyone!! I agree, this part of the build is enjoyable as long as everything is prepped and ready to go on. There’s nothing worse than putting bits together and realising I am missing a part and need to order it. The only real headache was the Hagon shock fitment but if I went with original parts I wouldn’t have had an issue. The forks are currently away for hard chroming and should be back within a few weeks so that will let me get the front end built up. I will have some more updates soon!

Re: GT380M Restoration
Bloody hell Peter that bikes gonna be a stunner when it's finished!!! But how will you dare to take it out with all the rain you get in Ireland? Also will you be waiting for the 2020 biking season to start?
Look, my paintwork hasn't got "Fish scales" they're "Dragon scales" right!!! However, after some thought, I will accept "Black Marlin" or "Swordfish", but definitely not "Haddock" or "Cod".

I hope so Steve! It will get a few runs out I hope, it’s not all rain here haha.
It will be mid 2020 I would think before it touches the tarmac, there is still all of the engine work to be done. Keeping the best for last
