Been a while since I did owt on this one but I'm psyching up for restoring a 1st edition GS550 so I've got to get a wriggle on.

Painted the seat base and fitted my sneaky-beaky yellow foam sheet to cover up the mankyness of the seat foam.

I've bought a Pit Replica seat cover so will be fitting this over the next week or so.

Another one of Kev’s top tips I’ve used on both my seats now 8-)

Well don't let 'em hang over the sides like saddlebags when you sit on the bike.

Nice paint its looking good I was just wondering I have only ever recovered one seat is the seat cover glued on? I used the spike strips on mine but it was tricky drilling the holes for that and the trim, didn't come out to bad in the end but it wasn't the easiest job, very time consuming and painful on occasion (bloody spikes)
just thought I would ask before I had another go ;)

That looks like a medieval torture instrument :o

The cover I bought is a Pit Replica jobby and is exactly the same as the original down to having the proper cable sown into the hem so it can be gripped by the existing clamps. I'll post some pictures as I screw it up, learn how to do it

Oi! I’ll have you know I’ve got a very petit derrière unlike yours in “that” photo :o
