Sweet restoration Ian. How do you like the sound of that Strader 3 into 1 exhaust. Mine sounded great https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6L6N_MYfuNY or on the dyno https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dJNrVqKLYRA

Thanks ! It does sound pretty good, although I am having trouble getting a good seal to the header box. I plan to take it apart again tomorrow and seal it again. I sent you an email a few days ago - did you have a chance to give it a look ? Thx ! 8-)

Looks fantastic, as ever, Ian!
Too blinking cold for me, though.

Thank you everyone. I have one more 'J' still to be restored which I will try and complete for 2018. As always, you will be able to follow along on my web site.

The cost of having a full 'J' exhaust repaired and re-chromed over here is just mental when you consider what I could sell the completed bike for here in Canada. I'd be lucky to get the equivalent of £4000, which is why so many Canadian (and US) bikes have been bought up and shipped to Japan and the UK. My plan is to ride it for a couple of years and then sell it on. I've had the Strader exhaust sitting in a box for years waiting for a suitable victim to install it on, and it just seemed to suit the colour ! :D It also weighs next to nothing when compared to the original system - there is actually a delta of 13.2 kg (29.2 lb) between the weight of the stock vs. the Strader. 8-)
