I took a load of chromework to Agbriggs in Leeds to be done about 3 weeks ago, and picked them up yesterday.
I only dropped the (final piece) rear mudguard in last Saturday.

As Alan says Aggbrigg are very good, I’ve had all the chrome on Dobbin done by them and the quality is superb with a fast turn around. Have a look in this thread for examples. As a bonus they will also chrome two stroke exhausts which a lot won’t touch.

A little more progress today, I’ve fitted my beautifully powder coated main & side stands complete with either stainless or freshly plated “S” bolts and shiny new springs. The old girl is finally off the floor! Sadly no pics as it’s not ideal for photography in my workshop with fluorescent strip lights. It looks the dogs though.

Re: Resurrection of Dobbin
As it’s crimbo morning and I’m trying to keep a low profile incase SWMBO gives me something to do that I don’t want to I’ve had an hour in my shed.
I bought a set of replacement clock faces to go with my new cases. I made a start stripping the tacho first as that was the poorer of the two and I also had a spare incase things went badly wrong. As it happened I needn’t have worried as the clock came apart quite easily and apart from the scabby case and faded dial it was in remarkably good condition. The lighting loom will be as new with a good clean and the stainless trim also cleaned up a treat. Some before and after pics for you.

Finished assembling the rev counter today, painted the tip of the needle and stuck the new face onto the backplate. This was one of those jobs that you only get one chance at as if you position wrong it’s scrap and at £27 a pair they ain’t cheap! I’m chuffed at the end result as it’s another of those jobs I’ve never tackled before.
