Still struggling getting the barrels over the pistons this morning so before I lost my rag and broke a ring I thought I would fit the chain & chain guard.

Was it just being a bit of a barsteward Paul, or did you have the rings upside down? :?

Trouble with larger bore barrels, they have to be dead perpendicular to the piston or they just stick. At least the barrels are one at a time - not like replacing the barrels on my old Bonneville in about 1976 with 2 pistons together.

Rings upside down? now would I do a stupid trick like that? ahem
Yes a lot easier with a 180deg twin as opposed to the 360deg one. Mind you have you tried re-ringing a four cylinder bike? that is a barsteward

A bit more today, couldn’t resist bolting the exhaust on the r/h side. One dropped clanger I’ve noticed is the footrest hanger is bent  that’s even more annoying as it’s already powder coated :( summat to sort out later.

"Beautiful" Paul lovely work there mate 8-) , noticed the fins appear to be cast jointed to each other does it not need any rubber between the fins then.

Cheers Dave
