GT550 expansion chambers wanted please..

Post by Puddlehopper »

I've been asking questions about what is available for my 550A. Alan has had a really nice set of chambers made by Mick Abbey that look great. I've found that Allspeeds come up now and again (in my dreams). And of course Higgspeeds are still available to order from Peter. Are there any other candidates?

I'd be mustard keen if anyone has anything for sale.

Many thanks and Merry Christmas - Gary.

There's always this;
Ceramic coated in 'metallic titanium' colour.
I have another set that need doing and is currently a 'sort of' chrome with added 'patina'.

Hi Alan

Thank you for posting, they seem to have quite a big following on here - I've got my heart set on a set of 3 into 3s.

Much appreciated, Gary.

Hi Guys

It looks like Micron made them also - I wonder how many are out there still?

Regards, Gary.

You could try these don't list for 550 or even 750 at the moment but might be worth enquiring.

Hi Ray, many thanks for your reply.

From what I hear the new owner has the rights to build the Allspeed/Gibson designs, but not the jigs. I know that for a time Micron were making pipes under the Allspeed branding - maybe using their jigs. Possibly someone in Codnor Derbyshire has them salted away.

Best regards, Gary.

Hi Gary, Gibson exhausts are on Facebook if you use it, they say they only make exhausts to order and have asked owners if they could use their bike to make a jig so maybe if you enquire they will be able to help, best of luck, Ray

But if you want to be different - as all the spannies are made to fit, so they are all different - go to Mick Abbey.
Then get 'em ceramic coated whatever colour you like.

Still looking guys.

Had a word at the Stafford show with Mr Higgs about his exhausts and boson - a set of the slightly quieter (but still tinnitus inducing) pipes were £750, a bit rich for me.

If anyone spots anything, please let me know.

Best regards, Gary.
