Black Chrome anyone?

Post by Ratsville »

I'm looking for a company that can undertake a Black Chrome job on an exhaust system. (Not for my Kettle!)
Done the usual Google stuff but coming up with a blank i'm afraid.
Can anyone suggest a goody for me? (UK only)
Thanks

I dont know about black chrome but I know you can get things coloured like a dark gun metal grey, almost black, by having them Titanium Alluminium Nitrided.
We do it with fork legs to give better protection than chrome as it is harder and has a lower coefficient of friction
The parts have to go in a plasma oven so if the exhaust is thin, it might melt
Its quite an expensive process though

And there's always ceramic coating in different colours.

I had the 550 exhaust done and very pleased.

Members of the GPZ900R OC have used Northampton Plating with good results.
