Folks,
Bit of fun, I found the locations and dates where my bikes were 1st taxed, by some tightarse (which could have been any of us on low pay) for just 4months which you could get back then, and Bill Blackmore makes fascimiles for you in the correct year colour and format. Nice touch making the dealer stamp for the GT380B.
Probably, no one but me will notice, but its a lo cost smile.
Cheers,
Mike

Haha! Made in Wombwell about a mile from where I live

And close to the bike shop where I get my bikes tested!
Small world innit!

Re: Vintage tax discs
John,
Ditto for me - I have spares for each bike. Nice touch, I suppose the cost of making these is mostly the labour in setting up the stamps and not the paper. Good to have at least one spare for the unlikely event I get caught in the rain and spoil my pristine tax disc
That'd be the least of my problems!

Re: Vintage tax discs
There are a couple of dumb ideas still lingering around countries in the world and tax discs were one of them. Being a former British Colony Barbados still uses this silly idea, thankfully the upright front number plate died a natural death due to the way modern bikes are designed. Having an accident with a pedestrian with an upright front number plate will not be pretty, especially if its a child. I like the North American idea of the tax decal afixed onto the rear plate, and speaking of rear plates, why is the UK still using such a huge plate on a bike.

So the cameras can see them clearly Allan.
We'll discuss this over a couple of beers next month!

They're trying their best when it suits the suits, if you know what I mean.
