Chroming - Exhausts

Post by madforitkev »

A Word of Warning.....

After a bit of searching and calls I decided to go to in Kent for my 750A exhaust refurbish.

They seemed professional and the quote was very detailed.

My set was solid but had a few small dents and a scrape on a downpipe. We discussed the damage and they said they would repair and rechrome.

I took photos of the damage and sent them and magic markered the damage on the pipes when I sent them.

3 months later and after lots of hassling, the pipes turn up.

Packaging was poor and they had obviously been left lying around somewhere wet as some rusting had started at the outlets and surprise, surprise all the dents were still there!!

So I called them and highlighted the bit in their quote about all 'repairs' etc.

The response was 'can't fix it, here's £80, go away'

My response was ' no thanks, you fleeced me for £700+. See you in court'.

The saga continues........

Don't want anyone else to fall into this trap.......
Honest baby....this is probably the cheapest bike I have ever bought!!

Personally I use Agbriggs in Leeds. They are very good.
Kev, (Canaletto) had some exhausts done and they looked very good - he may say different, but I'd be very surprised.
Dunno what they were like when he took them in, but knowing Kev, they would have been prepped somewhat.

Indeed, Sean did my 250 pipes as well as a load of other stuff for my bikes like muddy's, chainguards and brake pedals etc, First class job every time and very quick compared to some of the other horror stories you hear. Kev

+1 for Sean at Aggbrigg, I've had a load of stuff done recently and as Alan &a Kev have said they do a brilliant job and are quick as well. I won't be going anywhere else in future.

Quality Chrome, off Withanm, and yes, I'd recommend them. something like a 12 to 16 week turnaround, but one of the few places that will take on oily exhaust pipes from strokers.
