Ireland 2019

Post by JOHNJENKS66 »

Right lads, and lassies, as you know we are having a problem getting accommodation for next years proposed run to the North of Ireland.

We had hoped to take in a day's racing at the NW200, but due to the ever expanding crowds for this event, it makes finding suitable accommodation very hard to find.

If the racing is not a "must do" for us, then we could travel over the week after the racing, and concentrate on the sightseeing, drinking, riding, drinking, photo op's , drinking, etc.etc, you get the idea.

We could base ourselves in one or two locations, as the distances between our proposed destinations is not great, which will make it a bit easier to find decent places to stay.

Another option to consider is cottage rental, which could be cost effective.

So what I really need is confirmation on who will be coming, do we need to see any of the racing, ( 280,000 people attended this year ), and to set the dates.
The NW200, always takes place around the weekend nearest to the 16th of May.

As always, any ideas, or input greatly appreciated.

Cheers,John.
what the fuck was that ????

Hi Roger, they say on their official site,up to 100,000 on any given day, and they race over 4 days I think, so would not be far off.And with the trouble we are finding to get accommodation for all of us, I guess they could be right.

Great memories of that trip :)
