I wonder who they could be then?

I would have been there only when I set off this morning I noticed that the rev counter wasn’t working and chose to ignore it thinking it was only the rev counter cable had broken. Anyway, I was halfway down the motorway on my way to May’s Ray’s when I noticed the needle of the temperature gauge in the red zone.

Got to May’s Ray’s and took off the rev counter cable from the crankcase to confirm there was no drive to the rev counter assembly.

Looks like the water pump drive gear has sheared. Will investigate further tomorrow.

Fit a heavyweight replacement. You know it makes sense. The other one was obviously not up to the load.

I was going to fit a Yorkshire one. It’ll be cheap, make a whirring noise and a tight fit.
