Brigg bike night

Post by stevewharton »

Anyone up for Brigg bike night this coming Friday (5th July)? Always a good night, so I'll be there around 6.30
Look, my paintwork hasn't got "Fish scales" :x they're "Dragon scales" right!!! However, after some thought, I will accept "Black Marlin" or "Swordfish", but definitely not "Haddock" or "Cod".

Okay I'll see you'ze all there. I'll be giving the kettle a rest though after the rallies 500ish miles, so I'll be on the GSX1100 "goldfish" with its new paint job, look out for an orange blur

Just as a point to be aware of, some time ago there was an article in a newspaper about a guy who went to work on a classic bike who was only insured 'social and pleasure' journeys. Got pulled over and ticketed as he was commuting (to work).
I checked my policy and found it to be the same, so changed it quickly! :o
Might be worth checking 'just in case'.

thanks Alan.. never thought of that and I'll check.
Steve; I'll not get to Brigg till later tonight, as I've just been told of a big classic car/ bike meet at the north side of the Humber Bridge in the viewing area. As it's free to go over the bridge now, I'll go there first and call in at Brigg on the way back home.
cheers Andy

Andy what time does the car show start? I might pop over there before Brigg same as you, cos I do like taking advantage of the no toll charge on the Humber Bridge :D and still have a crafty smile remembering how MAG managed to get the toll for bikes abolished ;)

Alan, just checked my policy on this and it seems I am covered for "commuting".. so all is well. Many thanks for the heads up though. I will ride home safe in the knowledge that I won't be pulled!
cheers Andy
