My most recent winter project (which I call the 'Oily Purple' ) is ready to ride - this is the first of three 'J' models I'm doing over the next couple of years. The other two will be 'keepers' for a while at least, and this one sort of just happened. What I had was a good frame, a set of engine cases and many boxes full of extra bits surplus to the two I plan to keep. I've done all the mechanical, electrical and running gear, but left it as original paint and chrome. The build story for those interested can be read at this link, and the plan is to ride it this summer and then sell it on.
We have long winters here ............................

Thanks Mike ! I'm busy with the Nimbus now - I bought it as I wanted something different, but the more I get into it, the more I find that is just plain odd !yeadon_m wrote:You look to have your hands full there, Ian. But in a good way

Re: Oily Purple
Beautiful day for a ride today - this photo was taken just outside Bragg Creek. As you can see, we already have snow on the mountains here ! The 'Oily Purple' has been running well, so I've started the 'Regal Red' build. It will be a full restoration and should take most of the winter to complete. The web site for the build is at this link for anyone interested in following along.
