1977 vehicles now road tax exempt

Post by nairb123 »

I presume its rolled forward to 1977? for historic vehicle status. And 20 May 2018 for mot exempt. So I guess its not until the 20th may that the dvla systems will show historic vehicles as no longer needing mot's. So when the mot runs out on my gt550A on the 10th may I will need to wait 10 days before using it on the road again. or get an mot for those 10 days....

It has to have a current Mot to qualify for a mot exemption, as my mot tester told me. so if you let it run out you will have to pay for mot. it is to stop people getting a free mot for bikes that have been off the road for ages.

Let's not to forget to take your v5 (log book) down to your main post office, ( if not done already) and get them to fill in the section 7..
( changes to current vehicle) to historic.. Then get the v5 back with it reading tax class.. HISTORIC.. :D

Hmm, now why would an MOT test station owner say you need to get an MOT before your bike no longer needs an MOT ?... :P :tw
