Hi Steve, yes I bought a set a few years back but had a right problem getting them to fit back into the frame once mounted onto the ally mounting cradle. I had to modify/machine the cradle so there was room for everything to go back together and once I'd done this the ally cradle had lost its strength and cracked, I then had to make some thin stainless steel plates to hold it all together. I contacted the seller (not Legend but exactly the same product) and he said that had been a big problem and he was stopping selling the coils until there was a solution, anyway he refunded my money but I never found out if a fitting solution had been found. I ended up getting a replacement ally cradle from Baz and refitted my original coils, it turned out that my problem had been something other than coils and the originals are still on the bike and running with no problem.
Look, my paintwork hasn't got "Fish scales" they're "Dragon scales" right!!! However, after some thought, I will accept "Black Marlin" or "Swordfish", but definitely not "Haddock" or "Cod".

Thanks for that, I will give them a miss.
The coils on there at the moment are a mixture of 1 grey and 2 buff coloured ones.
The bike had been standing for 20+ years when I bought, i did get it running albeit
for about 20 secs before stripping it down.

I bought a set from Europe and they are great coils, but don't fit well. I ended up reversing them and having the coils point forwards and that works. For a race bike or special, they are great, but on a stock bike, I'd look for a different solution.
On the last bike I built, I found a couple of sets of coils with one dead coil. One was dead on the primary and the others on the secondary and of course that meant replacing the HT lead which turned out to be simpler than I had expected.

You can replace the HT leads on the buff coloured ones but not the grey. Have you tested the coils as they are very roust and it's more likely the HT or connections that are at fault.

Hi, I retrieved the coils from the storage bin and I'm no expert
but something looks wrong.
I take it all the coils should be facing the same way? also removing
the layers of insulating tape revealed the join in the wiring.

The guy that did that should be smacked. He should have fitted the replacement coil the other way round, obviously. And he should have just extracted the pins from the connector block and cleaned them while he was at it. It should work like that but it's a bit untidy.

Here is the OJB file on HT replacementioned . I and several other forum members have done this it is highly recommended. Only the buff coloured ones though perhaps you can source a single coil?
