This will effect everyone of you that rides a bike so please sign the petition and if you have time get out on one of the rides on the 25th sept .

Not sure if this has already been posted up on here but ive copied from another site for those who aint seen it , please dont just ignore this and pretend it will go away because this time it looks like those in power are going to try and push this through regardless ..

If anti motorcycling sentiment in the UK wasn’t enough to contend with, there are currently a range of draft EU proposals being voted on in Brussels in early October that will dramatically cut our enjoyment of trail riding unless we act on Sunday 25th Sept.

Mandatory Hi Viz clothing:

Seems unbelievable, but believe it! France is in the process of ratifying this law in October with Ireland following suit even to the level of defining that jackets must be completely hi viz i.e. full dayglo sleeves!

Anti Tampering regulations and Power train modifications:

Put simply, we will not be able to change the bike from the manufacturers original specification, so no changing of sprocket size, air filters, exhausts etc. No fitting of knobbly tyres if not original equipment.

Compulsory ABS:

No explanation is needed here as to the effect this will have on Trail riding, and despite lobbying, the proposals do not allow for the switching the ABS off by the rider

The TRF is affiliated to the BMF who are currently lobbying our MP’s as we speak.

Talking to politicians is important, but it isn't enough on its own. It's time to show the UK Government and its representatives in Europe that we want them to roll back the tide of interference in biking, not add to it.

What can we do?

We have an opportunity to take direct action on Sunday 25th September in advance of the vote by a simple protest involving riding your bike legally.

The Motorcycle Action Group (MAG) is a nationwide lobbying and campaigning group and are organising a series of nationwide protest rides lasting about half an hour. The idea is to get thousands of bikers on UK roads at the exact same time in a coordinated and organised way to remind the lawmakers that we have a voice and we care.

You don’t have to be a member of MAG to take part.

This type of action will be repeated up and down the country at exactly the same time and the local and national news media will cover the event. The effect of thousands of bikes riding at a perfectly legal speed in large groups on major routes throughout the UK will no doubt cause some short term disruption but will certainly bring attention to the issue.

What else can you do?

There's a petition on the government website to force a debate on the EU anti tampering laws accessed by following this link
