Top hose clips

Post by TOMMY666BIKES »

Hi all I’m in need of the 2 chrome/stainless clips that fit on the top hose of my kettle , I’ve seen some on flea bay at the rather expensive price of £55 for the pair , does anybody know if anyone else does them at a more reasonable price please

Hi Tommy, sorry mate but that's the going rate for a pair of chromed hose covers and fleabay is probably the only place you'll see them for sale, although I believe Mark Read on here makes them in stainless steel but not sure of the price. Plus I did hear a while back that the s/s ones aren't as springy as the chromed ones and don't retain their shape as well. You could give Baz a shout, he may have a pair.
HTH Steve.
Look, my paintwork hasn't got "Fish scales" :x they're "Dragon scales" right!!! However, after some thought, I will accept "Black Marlin" or "Swordfish", but definitely not "Haddock" or "Cod".

Hi, I got a pair of stainless clips awhile ago now from gtreiner1@aol.com
I just had a look at his current parts list & can't see a listing for them,
You could always Email him & ask the question,
Cheers,

Had a word with Mark Read and he hasn't any in stock, but says he will make some in the near future. Keep looking on his ebay site at classic_bike_fasteners

I’ve just bought a set of the expensive eBay ones as I had no other options. They are a good job but certainly not with £27 each but hey no other options. Delivery was within a few days.

Well, there was always the option to be not so posy.......
Oh, by the way, Baz fitted some on my 750 when he did the job.
Did you not ask him? ...... :tw
He builds the f'kin things for a living ffs, so he gets stuff - and sells it - at sensible prices.
Now where's the 'duh' smiley. :?
