Well, that's a crank rebuild and a rebore for starters.
Ne'mind, it's only money.
Who are you by the way?
Do you know anything about bikes?
Which bit of the world do you inhabit?
Anyway, I've lots of 550 spares when you realise you need some!!!
South Yorkshire's the name, 550s' the game......
I suspect the oil pump is knackered - unless there's no oil in the tank of course.
Our Baz on here rebuilds these for a living, at reasonable prices too!! http://www.kettleclinic.co.uk/kcforum/m ... rofile&u=2
Just done me 2 x 550 engines.
Yours appears to be either an early iron bore UK model or a US import, so barrels are a bit cheaper anyway.

Proof that four strokes are over complicated

I've worked on other people's GT550's before, but this is the first one that I've owned.
I've been messing with strokers for 45 years or so. Currently I still have a dozen in the garage not counting dirt bikes.
I spent a few hours searching for info about Suzuki triples and in my opinion this forum has the most knowledgeable enthusiasts on the net.
I appreciate the offer of parts but I'm in the U.S. and the shipping might kill the deal. But if I strike out here I might come calling.

Welcome to the forum bud. You found the best Suzuki two stroke site on the planet, lots of good info and help here. A word of warning though you will need a sense of humour, you’ll be ok for the first few months but after that the p1ss taking will start
Well worth it though, good luck with your project but your still mad in my opinion

Hey PaulD, I chuckled at your first post and appreciated the welcome.
I spent a few more hours reading here last night. Feel like I've known some of you for years now.
