I once read that Suzuki's race technicians spent many hours removing unwanted metal from the barrels of the works TR750's in the seventies.
The one that Teazer has pictured looks just like theirs did - I still think it's easier to eat less pies and only half-fill the fuel tank to achieve an easy (and healthy) weight loss.........

If (most) of us are honest with ourselves, we are all carrying a Kettle barrel or two around with us. It's just above the belt line.................

When I road raced, many decades ago I used to joke that taking a dump aka a number 2 before a race would reduce weight by more that $2,000 of titanium. Not that I ever sat down to calculate the equivalence. When you work on a limited budget, you have to do what you have to do.

Brilliant Project, I'm always looking for guidance, I'm about to try to squeeze a GT750 motor into a R1 rolling chassis. I'll keep you informed, have you any updated photos?

Re: T575 Steam Triple
No picture updates at the moment. I have a serious flaw in my design to drive the alternator - at 1000 engine rpm the alternator would be spinning around 16000rpm!
I have re-engineered it to be chain driven (I know!) at a 1:1 ratio which wouldn't allow the engine to exceed the alternators safe rev limit (unless I miss a gear).
I am trying to find someone who can make me a "custom" toothed belt to replace the chain. Getting the toothed pulley's isn't a problem.
I have sent all the engine mounting bushes away to be anodised black.
