Grease my balls or not?

Post by Kijmpe »

Still have the issue with my clutch.
I took the triangular plate with the 3 balls out to discover them mounted without any kind of grease.
Do they get their lubrication from the transmission oil or do I need to grease my balls?
And if so, what is the best grease for this?

Copper grease is best in my view

water based lube is always best...

Oh you mean for the clutch lifter, any bearing grease is fine. I haven't tried copper based that Mr C. recommended.

Copper is good because it doesn't harden (ooh-er Missus) and is anti-sieze

In the end, I greased the balls with MOS2 grease, but that didn't really charge anything.

Then I decided (against all advise) to grease the cable and that was the trick!
