Here you can post a picture of you and your bike. Also where you are located and if you are prepared to give local kettle owners some of your time and experience. Please don't do discussions here just some facts about yourself. This was Glens idea! Thanks BAZ

GT380 rebuild now complete

Post by badgereng »

Hi guys, today marked the completion of my 74 GT380 rebuild. It’s been 99% complete since April when the air filter caps finally returned from chrome spraying and I’ve done about 400 miles on it since. However, today saw the last piece of the jigsaw slotted into place when I installed the Newtronic Ignition and took it for a 30 mile road test.

It’s been a complete nut and bolt rebuild with only the front mudguard, wheels and clocks that have not been touched. Everything else has either been re-chromed, painted, powder coated or bright zinc’ed. Sorry! But I just like my possessions to shine

Major engine works included a crank rebuild by Chris Applebee and +0.5mm rebore at Armstrongs in Newcastle.

Carbs overhauled by Baz and truly stunning paintork done by Kev from the forum.

The spannering was done by yours truly and dead proud of my first nut and bolt job sine I turned a CB750K into a Yoshi 812 back 1982.

Hope you like 👍

Lovely job!.. I have an A model in black. just wondered where you sent your airbox ends to be rechromed?
mine are not bad but would benefit if the cost is reasonable!
cheers

Thanks Wardy. Mine were in very poor shape with deep gouges and a few minor scratches.
These were spray chromed rather than electroplated. They were done at Chromespray U.K. in Basildon.

www.chromespray.co.uk

They were £130 incl postage.

Hope this helps

Pete
