1974 GT380L FOR SALE

Post by badgereng »

1974 GT380L for sale - £6995

• Imported from Florida in 2003 and U.K. registered on an M plate
• No idea what the true mileage is. Odometer reads 8347 but no evidence to suggest it was correct. What is for sure is that it’s done 603, 100% reliable miles since the engine / bike was rebuilt late last summer. Essentially, it’s just ‘run in’ and never been above 6.5k to date.
• Starts from cold on kick two or three and from kick one when warm.
• Nut and bolt rebuild completed between Dec 2021 and Aug 2022.
• Rebore, new +0.5mm pistons & ancillaries.
• Crank rebuild.
• All cables except rear brake replaced.
• Wheel spindles, disc and sprocket tab washers, brake linkage pins, side stand pivot bolt, steel cable ties, seat hinges etc all re-zinced (Over 130 items)
• New chain (Sprockets were good)
• All engine seals / gaskets replaced as you’d expect after a full rebuild.
• All ‘S’ bolts either re-zinced or re-chromed.
• Powder-coated parts - Frame, Swingarm, Mainstand, Sidestand, Torque Arm, Top & Bottom yoke, exhaust & grab rail brackets, Front footrest brackets, Battery holder & Toolbox enclosure
• Switchgear re-furbed / painted.
• Endless years of harness bodges repaired (Bullet crimp joints at best and twist and tape at worst). All breaks re-soldered and heat shrink insulated.
• New handlebars
• Front & Rear wheel bearings renewed.
• Newtronic electronic ignition (Original points assembly available for those that prefer the dark ages)
• Original indicators starting to show a bit of age-related wear but come up OK with solvol. All lenses replaced.
• Only the wheel rims, front mudguard and grab rail have NOT been re-chromed. Everything else has.
• All general fasteners replaced with stainless wherever possible.
• Every part on front brake other than the disc, the reservoir cap and hose 1 replaced. Brake bedding in nicely now although it is still a 1974 disc brake!
• Rear shocks replaced.

• Full pictorial strip and rebuild pictures supplied on memory stick if required.

• Got another project on the go so it would be helpful if the GT380 moved quietly on to pastures new. Three bikes in a single garage are a tight a squeeze and the little triple making way will help.
Waaaay more spent on the bike & re-furb than what its ultimately worth but for me it’s a hobby and not a business.
That said, I don’t need the money and not desperate to sell so that also means it will stay with me till the right offer comes in whenever that may be. £6995 buys the bike. More than happy to accept more 😊

• The following people & companies made it all possible. Thank You…..
o Aztec Gold paintwork and decals by Canaletto Kev (1974 colour option in USA)
o + 0.5mm rebore by Armstrong Engineering
o Crank rebuild by Chris Applebee Engineering
o Bright Zinc plating by Premier Plating
o Chroming by Agbriggs and Silchrome
o Vapour blasting by Blast Off North East
o Powdercoating by Acer Component & Coatings
o Carb overhaul and rebuild by Bluesmoke Baz
