Drive not disengaging

Hi all,

After some advice. I serviced my 550 today and did the classic mistake of removing the detent pin instead of the drain plug ( first timer ). I realised and replaced the plug and did not disturb anything else on the bike. With the oil drained, I fitted a new GPI. When testing the GPI output by cycling the gears (engine off still no oil in the box), I noticed that when in gear, and the clutch pulled in, drive is not disengaging.

Any suggestions? Will be back on it tomorrow

Put the back brake on & try the starter. Might just be sticky plates.
If the gears cycle ok, then the detent is ok.

Solved:

Thanks for the response Alan. I managed to get this fixed on Sunday morning after reading quite a few topics with people suffering from the same thing. The clutch plates were stuck together & I ended up having the start the bike and jolt it into 2nd gear to free off. Not ideal, but it worked.
