Hi not been on for a while due to illness think the nylon points gear has gone on my 380 j can it be changed with the engine in place and are parts available Thant jim

Hi jim I have just seen your post ,
My points cam also went kaput I replaced it with a new one from ebay they aren't cheap!!
You have to take off the clutch cover to access it from behind ,and while you have the cover off press in a new
carrier bearing just in case.

I took the old one to my local Bearingman Ltd they had one in stock ,I can't recall off hand the cost but they are not expensive( unlike everything else )
