Re: Earwig
I like that hydraulic clutch jobby Al that would probably work on the T500 - the old arthritis in my left hand is getting worse so this would be the answer I think - I took the old rectifier off and checked it like you said the other day and turns out it was OK but I did find a couple of bad connections but haven't had a chance to test it since as it hasn't stopped raining

It looks ok and is definitely easier on the left hand. I got the handlebar controls as a pair, and as a bonus, it upsets the anoraks!

Aye they can definitely be temperamental if neglectedAlan H wrote:I understand that Ducatis need attention no matter how much (or little!) they run.
The 2 valve desmodue motor is a reliable wee lump, but the electrics leave something to be desired. Fortunately I fixed the major issues (charging & starting circuits) earlier in the lockdown, and since then have been replacing bits that are just failing due to age and/or lack of use (as you would with any old bike that's been sitting).

No, he’s even more decrepit than I amAlan H wrote:Is your mate going to be riding it then?
Anyway I only use the clutch to pull off pull away (phew that was close) I don’t use the clutch when the bike is moving

Not for Paul. He's used to holding traffic up as an ex- waggin driver. He gets vertigo over 56mph.....
