The small stuff was good.
Unfortuantely the Mudguards and rims really aren't very good. Sadly (financially) I'm going to have to send them somewhere else.

Other people above, seem happy so maybe this was a one-off. I can't afford to take the chance again.
That is disappointing. :(

Ashford Chroming. Horrendously expensive but boy they plate a mean single stay guard. I think I paid them £300 for the 550B (including repairs which you cannot see) but its way better than the NOS one on my 380B.
Cheers,
Mike

Do they also do repairs then Mike? That was the one thing about Agbrigg that holds them back for me. Was the 300 smackers for the set of four? Cheers. Kev

Ermm, sorry Mike, just re-read your post. I guess the £300 was for the mudguard only ? Kev

Yes good chromers don't come cheap , when I restored my ap50 I paid £200 to have the front mudguard repaired and rechromed , it's a beautiful job although if you look inside they have left blobs of welding which I thought they could have dressed off
I believed this to be a rare genuine suzuki mudguard so was worth saving , the mudguard has a loop welded onto the left side to hold the front brake and speedo cables , when I came to fit it the front brake cable wasn't long enough :? The cable was genuine suzuki but I checked the length against another to see it was correct ................ After lots of head scratching it turns out my expensive rechromed mudguard was actually a pattern one and the cable loop is the wrong size  I have a genuine one now but haven't had it rechromed yet

Kev,

Yes, Ashford Chroming do repairs. I haven't used them for exhausts though they said they will do two stroke pipes including repairs. But the mudguard pricing told me I wouldn't want to go there!

For pipes, I recently had good results at a reasonable price including repairs from http://www.chromerestorationspecialist.co.uk/ in Folkestone. For two GT550 outers, starts at £185 + VAT each. Was a bit more as I did have some brazing done and also gave them some clamps. Not perfect but that was down to some pitting that wouldn't polish out without risking too-thin metal when done. I hope they still sound as nice as before the decoke/rechrome!

Cheers,
Mike
